Fabio Biscarini is Chief Technical Officer (CTO), founder and former president of Scriba (2005-2009). He is CNR Research Director at ISMN Bologna and Contract Professor of Nanotechnology at Univ. of Bologna. He received a Laurea cum laude in Industrial Chemistry, Univ. Bologna (1986), and a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Univ. of Oregon, USA (1993). He was CNR postdoc in 1994 and Research Scientist in 1996. He coordinates EU and National projects in nanotechnology. He is inventor of 17 patents and author of 170 publications in high-rank international journals and books. He received the 2007 EU-Descartes Prize and the Fellowship of the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK) in 2004.
Massimiliano Cavallini is R&D Senior scientist and IP manager. He is Senior Scientist at CNR-ISMN Bologna. He got a Laurea cum Laude in 1995 and Ph.D. in Chemistry in 1999 from the University of Florence. His research spans unconventional lithography of multifunctional materials, applications of dewetting phenomena, nanoscale information storage and electrochemistry. He authored more than 85 papers in high-rank international journals, several book chapters and 15 international patents. He is Principal Investigator of EU projects, and received the ESF-EURYI Award 2006.
Fabrizio Bugamelli is President and CEO of Scriba Nanotecnologie Srl since 2009. He is expert in technology transfer and entrepreneurship. He got a Laurea in Political Science, Univ. Bologna (1996), a Master in Business Administration (Profingest Bologna, 1997). He is CEO of AlmaCube ( the incubator of University of Bologna), board member of PNICube (Academic Association of Italian Incubators) and Contract Professor of the University of Bologna.
Pierpaolo Greco is Senior Application Scientist, in Scriba Nanotecnologie since 2009. He got a PhD in Chemistry (2009) and a Laurea in Environmental (Chemical) Engineering (2005), Univ. of Bologna. His competences are design, fabrication and integration of microfluidics devices and patterns, finite element calculations, development of unconventional lithography, laser prototyping on new materials for organic electronics. He is principal investigator in EU Projects. He authored 12 publications in international scientific journals.
Serena Lanza is responsible for external and commercial relations. She joined Scriba Nanotecnologie in July 2009 where she works on laser scribing, testing on new material and development of new product lines. She is in charge of the participation of Scriba Nanotecnologie to the Emilia Romagna High Technology Network. She has a Laurea in Biology at the University of Genova (1996), where she specialised in preparation techniques of biological samples and structural research with optical and scanning electron and transmission microscopes (SEM, TEM). She is co-author of 7 publications.
Pietro Mattiazzi works on the design and development of optical readers and laser writing equipment for applications related to fabrication and integration. He is involved in European Projects. He got a laurea in Electronic Engineering from University of Bologna, and is member of the National Order of Engineers. He worked in a biomedical company as a designer and developer of biomedical equipment. He joined Scriba Nanotecnologie in 2008.
Davide Natalini is responsible of the development and maintainance of the internal IT infrastructure and of all the software products of Scriba. He has competences on laser micromachining and system integration and automation. He is involved in R&D activities in EU Projects. He has a Laurea in Physics from University of Bologna (2007). He joined Scriba Nanotecnologie in 2008.
Claudio Rota is is in charge of supporting the development of corporate strategies as well as business development activities, including partnering and financing. He is a professional advisor and consultant, founder and Managing Director of Lx Group, a strategic advisory firm specializing in life sciences. Dr. Rota worked as an advisor to dozens of publicly traded and private companies in the biotech, pharmaceutical and diagnostic sectors in diverse areas such as corporate strategy, business development, financing, licensing and M&A. In addition to his consultancy expertise, he held a number of industry positions with companies such as Reckitt Benckiser Pharmaceuticals, Nanopharma Technologies and the University of South Florida, Division of Patents & Licensing. Dr. Rota received a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Rochester and a B.S. in Physics from Southern Polytechnic State University.
Patrizia Fulle is the Administrative secretary. She has experience also on EU project financial reporting. She received a laurea in Foreign Languages from Univ. Perugia. She joined Scriba in 2006.
Niccolò Dionisi is a Computer Assistant. He got a Master in Computer Science at University of Bologna (2011). He works on software development and interfacing hardware and software. He joined Scriba Nanotecnologie in October 2011.
Silvia Tortorella is a Chemistry graduate student at the University of Bologna starting 2012. She got a Laurea cum laude in Medical Biotechnologies from University of Bologna (2009) and a Master in Forensic Science from University of Parma (2011).
